E-books and publishing agreements in the digital Eden: is Apple the fruit of sin?

Abstract:
The article analyses the e-books history, scrutinizing the main changes that haveoccurred in the traditional publishing industry and paying attention to the elementsthat characterize the new market. In this perspective, it is thus assessed the Us andEuropean antitrust case concerning the agreements reached by Apple and the majorinternational media groups, according to the allegations aimed at achieving thecoordination on the pricing schemes in the sale of electronic books as to oppose thediscounting practices adopted by the dominant player in the market: Amazon. Whois the winner?
