Municipalities and live entertainment facing the Covid-19 and beyond

Vincenzo Santoro

Economia della Cultura, 2021, issue 3, 363-371

Abstract: Italian municipalities are responsible for a large part of the direct organization, or the main support, of events, exhibitions, shows, tourism and cultural promotion initiatives, from urban areas to small villages and «internal areas». Our country retains a deep-rooted custom in the organization and enjoyment of live entertainment, promoting integration and aggregation in the communities of citizens. Municipalities faced great difficulties during the Covid pandemic and the first problem remains the territorial inequality. Starting over from the cities means allowing local administrations to be able to really support the entertainment. Through some good practices and current legislative forms are presented Anci’s proposals for the revitalization of the municipalities
