The National Chart of the Borghi

Abstract: After the year 2016 proclaimed as «Year of Cammini/Paths», the Ministry of Culture (at that time also in charge for Tourism) proclaimed 2017 as the «National Year of Borghi/Villages» by setting up a special Committee of institutional and associative representatives with the task, among other things, of elaborating a Manifesto for the Italian villages. This resulted in a policy document also approved by the Committee of the Regions and the Association of Italian Municipalities The fundamental points of the Borghi Chart concern physical and digital accessibility, entrepreneurship, the enhancement of material and intangible cultural heritage, sociality and governance.
