For a new mindset: being hybrid

Francesco De Biase

Economia della Cultura, 2022, issue 4, 477-482

Abstract: There are some scenarios and transformation processes nowadays in our country that demand the elaboration and activation of specific competences. The analysis published by many research institutes indicate how hybridity, multidisciplinarity and multisectoriality may be the directions to follow, to develop adequate competences and to face modern challenges. These entails go beyond a rigid compartmentalization of knowledge and «disciplinary silos», to activate environments, styles and practices across the service industry, professionalisms, and places in different areas: culture, healthcare, environment, regeneration, education, professional training, etc. To achieve these goals, it will be necessary to activate new experimental paths (alongside the already existing experiences) and new models capable of generating transdisciplinary and transectorial construction processes, not just through approaches and joints, but also through concrete practices which enhance dialogue and connect different visions, codes, knowledge models, tools, and modes of operation
