Capitals and Cities of Culture: notes towards the construction of a research agenda

Abstract: This short article identifies a range of questions for future research on the operation and impacts of Capitals and Cities of Culture (CoC), a growing phenomenon worldwide. The article focuses on questions concerning the conceptions of «culture» adopted in CoC initiatives, the problematisation of the idea of «partnership» and aspects of the impacts of CoCs on local cultural sectors
