Gender observatories in creative and cultural sectors

Abstract: Despite the growing attention towards cultural and gender statistics, there is still a lack of a dedicated monitoring body at European level. On the other hand, in the individual member states, in recent years, some gender observatories in the field of culture have been born, primarily the French and Spanish ones. Also in Italy, since 2021, the «Osservatorio per la parità di genere» has been operating within the Ministry of Culture. These first experiments allow us to make some initial methodological considerations
