Abstract:
This chapter introduces the section on the relations and the intersections between cultural policies and some broader issues such as social cohesion, democracy and sustainability, including methods for assessing cultural projects. A special attention is payed to the international collaboration at institutional and research level in promoting cultural policies, interventions on cultural heritage assets and the evaluation of cultural assets, especially those that are challenging to quantify in economic terms.
