Digital competences and cultural heritage

Marzia Piccininno

Economia della Cultura, 2024, issue 2-3, 453-460

Abstract: The increasing rate of technology in work practices, the development of sophisticated digital platforms and the growing complexity of global challenges have led to a new awareness of the need to equip cultural heritage professionals with adequate digital competences and of national plan to manage such rapid and radical changes. The Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali has taken up this challenge and launched "Dicolab. Cultura al digitale", the training programme linked to the National plan of digitisation of Cultural heritage of the Ministry of Culture. "Dicolab" is also an experimental laboratory for the elaboration of a specific framework of digital skills for heritage professionals.
