Indicatori di sostenibilità e cultura

Stefania Anghinelli and Ilaria Beretta

Economia della Cultura, 2004, issue 1, 17-26

Abstract: The principal aim of this article is to determine to what extent sustainability indicators are applied to cultural matters. Sustainable development emphasises the importance of economic, social and environmental aspects, in order to improve the quality of lifeincluding the cultural topics. The European Common Indicators (ECI) are being used by a growing number of subjects to try to measure a complex phenomenon like local sistainable development. ECI are based on 6 major sustainability principles. Although one of this principles is focused on cultural values, this has not been fully traslated in any of the 10 ECI.
