Youth participation and the challenge of positive cultural engagement
Terry Barber
Economia della Cultura, 2008, issue 1, 15-26
Abstract:
Young people are often seen as a problem or a subculture to be «dealtwith». This paper offers a more constructive discussion of cultural identity, consumption and the need to focus upon an assets approach in the production of potential. Finally, a model of youth engagement is offered as a discussion tool for exploring the structural, methodological and aspirational aspects of youth participation.
