Racconto dei beni culturali

Abstract:
An encounter in dialogue format that reveals an orderly world where conservation and restoration are not occasional activities or imposed by emergencies or the risk of losing the work. Instead, they are delegated on an ongoing basis to bodies that are created and vested with responsibility for this sole, common mission by the national government and regions, which finally agree with each other, to the new mindset of a new generation of competent officials and technicians who have received the same kind of training and experience, with laboratories and equipment characterised by avant-garde conservation, information, and communication methods and technologies, and a Geographical Information System, which provides the common basis and tools for co-operation amongst all players in the decisions, work, and inspections for conservation and management of heritage and the landscape. This world is defined in the assumptions and projects prepared over the years by the management and expert advisors of Italian heritage administration institutions. But the dream is interrupted: Mala cocurrunt tempora.
