Abstract:
Over the last decade, among the many phenomena of globalisation, we have to notice that the organizations that operate over long arcs of time offering their products need to be known in the market for contemporary consumption as a container of experience, of a consolidated past and memory, distinguished and guaranteed by them. This article shows how history becomes the foundation of the corporate culture as well as its products become expressions of its peculiar culture in the process creating corporate museums and archives open to the public. The history of enterprise that is collected and is expressed in museums in Italy takes a step further and expands the experience in district museums, collecting the memory of a manufacturing or industrial district with the pride to show the richness of a land, the uniqueness of an area, and in thematic museums that celebrate the uniqueness of the raw materials that the land offers to its inhabitants with their competences, ability, know how.
