Abstract:
Management indicators and performance data analyzed in this article put in great evidence how deep became financial and economic crisis of lyric foundations in Italy during this last years. The focus is particularly on the persisting «heaviness» of personnel costs, which represent more than 60% of production costs for operas. It could be linked with employment contract and benefits allowed to artists and technicians during their work, even if that is not the only comprehensive motivation. To promote a complete reformation of the lyric sector, a new order must be found for organizations and different relationship between workers and institutions. Nevertheless, lyric system needs a higher level of grant from public sector, to promote and safeguard a key-sector for Italian culture.
