A cosmopolitical cultural policy as the answer to the present Grande Crise?

François de Bernard

Economia della Cultura, 2014, issue 1, 91-98

Abstract: There is a very strong (financial and symbolic) disinvestment of policy makers in respect of cultural projects and policies, since the end of 2007 and the start of a multifaceted «great crisis» whose we are far from emerging. In this article, we will first stress the contradictions and contemporary failures within the «Geopolitics and culture» field of action. Then, we will comment upon the most significant achievements of last decades in EU and international cultural policy. Finally, we will try to define the 2020 challenges and objectives of a both cultural and cosmopolitical strategy.
