Abstract:
The «economization» of culture made progress in the late XXth century both from a scientific and a political point of view. Mainly in Europe, «information society», «knowledge economy», «creative industries» have been evoked to give new priorities to the public policies (and expenses). This paper examines aspects and consequences of «culture numbering» and expectations of micro - or macro - economic results of public policies and investments in expressions or activities more and more regarded as «cultural». A brief recall is made, in conclusion, of the economic tendencies (1995- 2013) in some meaningful cultural sectors.
