Typology Of Products, Size Of Companies, Comparison With European Countries And US, Training, Italian Authors Working For Foreign Companies

Alfio Bastiancich

Economia della Cultura, 2016, issue 3, 395-398

Abstract: In this article the author, a children's animation producer, explains the national and international scope of animation companies and of the Italian animation industry market, and writes about Italian corporations (e.g. RAI) and international ones (the Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and the Disney Channel) in the Italian market and the requirements of production. Particular attention is paid to the training of creatives, for whom the job market is global: in addition to Italy, it includes the rest of Europe (in France, the UK [in particular London], Germany, and Spain), and in the US, especially Los Angeles (at Disney, Pixar and the Dreamworks studios). This is one aspect of crucial importance for Italian animation producers.
