Dance Well: pas de deux with Mr. Parkinson
Susanne Franco
Economia della Cultura, 2017, issue 2, 293-298
Abstract:
The article presents the case of Dance Well a project based in Bassano del Grappa and offering free contemporary dance classes for Parkinson's sufferers, their relatives, but also dancers and choreographers, doctors and therapists. From its beginning in 2013 till today Dance Well has offered 350 dance classes all hosted at Bassano's Civic Museum and has involved about 13 thousand people. This project is here analysed in its relationships with the social and cultural context of Bassano del Grappa and with the complex institutional frame that has made this dream come true for patients and dancers.
