Changes in the nature of cultural organizations
Pierpaolo Forte
Economia della Cultura, 2017, issue 3, 401-406
Abstract:
Paolo Leon, has made a fundamental contribution to the cultural heritage sector. His ideas has brought important changes in terms of culture and economics: although there are still some resistance, the legislation, the European perception, and the jurisprudence have opened up both to the concept of enterprise and to the idea of efficiency and social profitability. In the Italian museums are not perceived as a sacred temple, and more and more a place where the artists and the professionals of the world of art and culture are protagonists. These innovations are also visible either in the juridical transformations of museums (autonomy), or in the new rules of public contracts that govern the partnership between the private and the public sector.
