Banca Impresa Società, 2016, issue 1, 3-8
Abstract:
The intervention focuses on the background and objectives of Directive 2013/36/EU to address weaknesses that were identified during the financial crisis regarding the functioning of financial institutions' management body and suitability of its members and the role and current mandates of the European Banking Authority (EBA) within this context. To this end, the EBA Guidelines aim at further improving and harmonising the assessment of suitability of boards within the EU financial sector and at ensuring robust governance arrangements in institutions.
