The Transformation of Banking Regulations

Abstract:
This paper illustrates the evolution of the Italian banking regulations since the financial crisis in 2007. Particularly, the paper focuses on the most critical changes after the crisis affecting a) the notion and idea of bank; b) the independent banking authority monitoring system; c) the internal organization of private banking companies and, finally, d) the regulatory framework for failing banks.
