Rivista economica del Mezzogiorno, 2020, issue 4, 757-780
Abstract:
This article describes an experience of technological transfer to small and medium Italian enterprises and the start of the implementation of Industry 4.0 (today Transition 4.0) carried out by the PIDMed project through which the Societing 4.0 research-action programme and the «Federico II» University supported the Chambers of Commerce of Salerno and Caserta to create and provide services of the Digital Enterprise Point (PID). From the experience of the PIDMed various ideas and proposals were born on new methods of support for the development of the local entrepreneurial system: these are conditions that can favour not only the spread of Enterprise 4.0 but above all can put into practice a process of social innovation that makes the application of technologies such as those envisaged by the National Plan for the benefit of businesses digitalization both possible and useful.
