Rivista economica del Mezzogiorno, 2012, issue 1-2, 99-104
Abstract:
University autonomy cannot survive without accountability - i.e. the responsibilityfor its choices. Choices are evaluated through results, so that Universitycarries out adequately its institutional and leading role for society with a newinternational scenario. It has to persuade itself that evaluation culture representsa value, since being responsible for its actions as well as the way it acts is oneof its duties. The evaluation process is set out in the following stages: a) a selfevaluationreport (SER), that is a critical analysis of the strengths and the weaknesses;b) a peer-review evaluation; c) a strategic plan for improvement formulatedand monitored by the University evaluated.
