Abstract:
Household budget sample data, biannually made available by the Bank of Italy, are used in this study. We focus attention on consumption information displayed on a crossed frame of four income quartiles and four assets quartiles. We end up describing household evolution of consumptions (and symmetrically of savings) as related to the variation of wealth (separately as function of income and assets). Finally, findings are shortly discussed in view of possible underpinning of the recent time evolution of consumer's behaviour.
