Abstract:
This contribution is part of the debate on the study of tourism experience by focusing the analysis on museums. The work offers a model for the analysis of different types of image of the museum, the overall image, the emotional image and cognitive image. The survey also aims to investigate the differences between the perception of visitors and managers of the museum. The results show that managers have the same perception of tourists with regard to general image, but they have a very different perception with regard the affective image; relative to cognitive image, perceptions are different only with respect to certain dimensions. The analysis was conducted through a direct survey of a structured questionnaire on 13 museums of the island of Gran Canaria (Spain).
