Abstract: The phenomenon of climate change represents one of the greatest challenges of the XXI century, with potentially significant consequences for the environment and human society. As global temperatures continue to rise, the effects of these changes become increasingly apparent, necessitating action to mitigate them. One of the less discussed but highly important aspects is the impact of climate change on national security. This connection between the environment and security poses a wide range of new challenges and risks that humanity must face, from forced migration due to the inability to live in affected areas, to conflicts over natural resources. This article utilizes a case study methodology to demonstrate the effect of climate change on national security, focusing on the impact on food security, climate-induced migration, resulting social tensions, competition among actors for natural resources and the risks of conflicts. The research results will draw attention to the risks and threats to which the entire planet is exposed, aiming to identify solutions to address problems that may arise in this context, such as supporting collective actions at regional and global levels. In conclusion, every individual and state actor must recognize the need to adapt to climate change and take measures to mitigate the risks and threats posed by this phenomenon. This is crucial not only for us, but also for future generations, in order to be able to benefit from all that our planet can offer in a safe and resilient manner.
