Cassations et évocations dans les remontrances des parlements au XVIIIe siècle

Abstract: Even though two periods in the eighteenth century (the thirties and the first part of the fifties) concentrate the most important number of remonstrances, denouncing cassations and evocations in the parlements of Paris, Rouen and Rennes, nevertheless these questions took up very little room in the whole production of remonstrances. But, the issues had changed, from defining the boundaries of the spiritual and the temporal to the defence of jurisdiction’s degrees and claims that each parlement was the indisputed master in its jurisdiction. Tension remained periodic between the justice delegated to the magistrates and the one the king hold back.
