Abstract:
The paper studies the nature and development of the concept of active labor market policies. Active labor market policies are a response to the challenges of structural unemployment, the high percentage of inactive persons and long-term unemployed persons in Europe and globally. They provide opportunities for more efficient use of human capital through the activation approach and create opportunities for adequate and mutually beneficial public employment policy solutions to respond to new challenges in the labor market at national and global levels.
