Abstract: The paper identifies the place of "quasimarkets" in the subject area of the economic theory. They are primarily a result of an institutional change /regulation/ of the state. The content defines the conditions for the formation of their institutional mechanisms. The development of the "quasimarkets" structures in the public sector is an opportunity for the penetration of market relations and the formation of competitive behavior of the economic agents. These processes are conditions to improve the efficiency and the quality of the public goods. On the basis of the implementation of the institutional economic paradigm some conclusions are made-the actual patterns of the ‘’quasimarkets’’ depend on the institutional specific and the peculiarities of the public sector.
