Abstract: The level of competitiveness of the product, or products, as well as the perspectives and potential for its increase are among the major factors that affect the competitiveness of the enterprise. There are some guidelines for improving the competitiveness of the product. The practical implementation of all of these guidelines requires a tight and sustainable connection with the real and potential customers of this product. The results from an empirically conducted research show that all researched enterprises use only the traditional models for connection between the enterprise and its customers. With regards to the overcoming of the faults of these models, possibilities are offered for the improvement of competitiveness of the product by implementing active methods for direct connection with the customer.
