Abstract: Social entrepreneurship is seen in the context of the social economy. It is the production, distribution and/or organization of consumption goods with socially significant effect. Social entrepreneurship is a voluntary non-profit activity operating in the non-government, the third sector, which is not necessarily tied to profit. The argument is that it is a business model, used to solve social problems and combining the social focus of the business and entrepreneurial approach to organization and management. Social enterprise is an organizational entity of social entrepreneurship. The paper outlines the legal basis in the EU and Bulgaria and refers to specific practices.
