Abstract: In tourism crisis could be provoked by local problems, criminal acts or negative image-making campaigns as well as to result from terrorism, political strife (civil war) or natural disasters (like a tsunami). Despite the vulnerability of the tourism industry to external and internal crises, threats and disasters, their effects could be managed and controlled both before their occurrence and on subsequent stages. Therefore, this study aims to determine the scope of the issues and to explore opportunities for a proactive response form the part of tourist destinations.
