Abstract:
The article analyses the structural transformation in the balance of payments of Bulgaria 2000-2004. The first change seems the rapid increase of the foreign trade passive. This is partially compensated by the inflow from the tourism and the current transfers. The following negative result in the current account has been covered by the direct investment, which grew up significantly after the NATO membership of the country. The concerns in the context are related with the growth of the foreign indebtedness of the private sector.
