Abstract: The paper is intended to study the relationship between the fiscal decentralization in Bulgaria and the current financial position of local governments. The main purpose is to present the status, tendencies, and fundamental problems of the municipal budgets as a base for further analysis, conclusions, Assessments, and recommendations.
