Abstract: This text was presented on the 25.09.2006 in Haus der Geschichte - Bonn, Germany as a lecture for the members of the German society for foreign policy ( Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Auswaertige Politik, Forum Bonn). It illustrates “what happened” in Bulgaria after 2001 and gives arguments supporting the EU membership of the country in the year 2007.
