INNOVATIVENESS OF BULGARIAN ECONOMY AND LISBON STRATEGY

Abstract:
The paper discusses the level of innovativeness of national economy and how to improve it from the point of view of the Lisbon strategy for European economic development. The level of innovativeness of the Bulgarian economy is evaluated relative to EU average on the base of European innovation scoreboard data using European methodology ‘Trend chart” for benchmarking national economies’ innovativeness (2005). The drown conclusions lead to initiation of National Lisbon strategy for economic development and identification of its main directions.
