Abstract:
Markets change; worldwide new opportunities for resourcing arise; new technologies enable innovative business models. Today, companies need to be fast and flexible to gain or maintain a competitive edge. At the same time they need to effciently utilize their resources. These new challenges were partially unleashed by the advances in communication technology over the last 15 years. Data transfer rates became faster, and the costs for communication services decreased.
