THE BULGARIAN SOCIETY STANDS IN FRONT OF INEVITABLE CHANGES

Abstract: At first hand there in nothing more mutually exclusive than the two ideologies – “the one of the real socialism” from our near past and the other, the neo-libertarian one, which at present is being overwhelmingly imposed by the medias. According to the first ideology, the human being should be regarded as a cogged wheel within the mechanism of the big social and economic machine, which at least at theory should be moving faster and faster, most often in circles, always obeying and executing the right orders coming from “above”. The was no space envisaged for any personal space. Society was forced to march in a single joint pace under the command of the “wise and far-sighted” leaders of the party and the state. And they were taking their decision “on the grounds of the achievement of the progressive science”. Thepropaganda, that allowed no alternatives, was turning the failures into success for decades and decades till the very end this futureless model. The neo-liberal doctrine, from the other side, is being centered only and solely on the personal interest. And society is being regarded as a non-organized crowd for which there are very few rule which in the case of the Bulgarian society are rarely being observed and obeyed. Everything should be accomplished on an individual basis, most often against the interest of the other members of society. In this framework, terms like nation and national interests are naturally losing their meanings. And the proponents of this very same doctrine clamin that the world economic crisis of 2008 only confirms the rightness of the ideas for more and limitless economic and all kind of other freedom and lesser and lesser state-bureaucratic interference and regulation… Where, however, one can find the matching point between these contradicting polarities? The present paper tries to find the answer to this very same question?
