Abstract: The transition from the centralised state management to the free market economy principles and requirements has placed a number of issues related to the applicable economy categories, especially towards the social - economic category “wage”. The changes in the economic climate and the new type of business relations appeared to have had a great impact on the salaries, as a tool for motivation and stimulation of labour owners, in the way they lease and exploit labour. The fact that labour pricing is formed and regulated in a quite specific and very different manner when compared to tangible assets pricing, this predetermines the need for permanent theory - methodological and practice - applicable analysis of this particular, but extremely important social - economic category.
