Abstract: Teleology is used as fundamental principle in describing and explaining actions. The basic concept of teleology is the assumption of an actor engaging in intentional, goal-oriented behavior. This article describes how teleological mechanisms work and show changes can be effectuated. A short case description of strategic, technological and organizational change illustrates some fundamental characteristics of teleological actions in real economic situations.
