Digitalisierung als Chance für einen neuen kollektiven Handlungsbedarf in der gewerblichen Wirtschaft

Z'GuG Zeitschrift für Gemeinwirtschaft und Gemeinwohl, 2021, vol. 44, issue 4, 564-577
Abstract:
This article discusses current economic developments such as decreasing productivity level, increasing market concentration, rising inequality and a decreasing economic dynamic, which particularly affect small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It will be shown that these developments are particularly pronounced in the area of the digital economy. Subsequently it will be asked whether cooperative concepts can be seen as a suitable instrument to counteract these occurrences. The paper ends by identifying three different cooperative types resulting from the development within data or platform cooperatives: autonomy-emphasizing, competition-emphasizing, and value-creation-emphasizing cooperative models.
