Eine Grounded Theory Solidarischer Ökonomie in Österreich. Strategien und Mechanismen sozial-ökologischer Transformation im Verständnis von Praxisakteur:innen

Andreas Exner

Z'GuG Zeitschrift für Gemeinwirtschaft und Gemeinwohl, 2022, vol. 45, issue 2, 331-346

Abstract: Current theories of social ecological transformation are often abstract and technology-oriented. Based on interviews with solidarity economy activists in Austria, the paper analyzes how praxis actors themselves understand the relevance, developmental dynamics and necessary strategies of transformation. Thus, the central action problem for solidarity economy is how to successfully compete with the capitalist system in order to develop into the dominant mode of economy. In this regard, actors differentiate between short- and long-term strategies that are necessary to overcome obstacles to transformation.
