Abstract: This contribution reflects on the potential of cooperatives, to contribute to solutions for the multiple crises and to the eco-social transformation of economy and society. It embeds cooperatives into the context of recent societal movements and discourses and discusses central elements of cooperative economies from this perspective. Finally, it presents new developments in Italy and Germany, which demonstrate in special way this transformative potential.
