SDG 17-Digitalisierungspartnerschaften und digitale Public Corporate Governance: Rolle der Identität oberster Führungskräfte

Abstract: Digitalization partnerships in the sense of SDG 17 between administrations and state-owned enterprises are central to successfully shape digital transformation and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the discussion on partnerships, it is important to better understand to which extend the identity of top executives affects digitalization partnerships. Survey data from 77 top executives of public utilities show that public service motivation is positively related to a strengthened digitalization partnership with the local administration, whereas prosocial motivation is negatively related. The article extends the understanding of identity in partnerships and derives research perspectives.
