Abstract:
The literature on analyzing organizations has devoted more to positive than failed cases. Nevertheless, the "dark side" represents one of the constituent elements of everyday organizational practices. Given these considerations, the paper focuses on the possible perverse effects, organizational myopias, and unexpected outcomes following "digital health" implementation. Through the Tuscany Regional Health System case study and qualitative methodologies based on in-depth interviews, we want to anticipate the critical issues and shortsightedness that could plausibly affect the Italian National Health Service.
