Abstract: The currently dramatic upheavals in the energy industry, i.a. caused by the massive support of renewables and the failure of the emissions trading system, are leading increasingly to a call for capacity remuneration mechanisms in order to keep conventional power plants in the market to ensure security of supply. But to achieve a secure, affordable and sustaintable electricity supply it would be more efficient to enhance the existing Energy-only-Market. en
