Abstract:
In the current economic discussion on project controlling, agility with methods such as SCRUM, Design Thinking and KANBAN is becoming increasingly important. From a business point of view, it is still unclear whether these methods really improve project management and project control, whether classical and agile project management and project control are mutually exclusive, and to what extent hybrid approaches are possible in practice. Based on an empirical survey of 135 companies conducted in 2019, this study examines the relationship between project management methods and project control in business practice. The results show that in agile project management other project control instruments are used and that the satisfaction of team members in agile projects is significantly higher.
