Abstract:
Covid-19 has made virtual leadership and teamwork a new normal. The uncertainties often felt in virtual teams can be reduced by building trust. Therefore, the present qualitative study investigates how virtual leadership can succeed. In a four-day virtual leadership training, the relationship and trust development were examined. The results of the study emphasize the importance of benevolence and integrity, as they enhance the subjective perception of trust. Control in virtual leadership thus gains a new perspective: attention is redirected from work results to the employee’s well-being.
