Die Zukünfte von Gender Mainstreaming
Gertraude Krell
WSI-Mitteilungen, 2015, vol. 68, issue 1, 62-63
Abstract:
The author’s proposal is to differentiate between gender mainstreaming as a concept for gender equality on the one hand and as a principle or rule for looking at gender relations and gender equality in all processes and contexts, on the other. It will be explained why the law not only protects against sexism, but also against racism and other discriminations. In addition, other policies directed against discrimination, in particular diversity concepts will be examined. Finally, the intersection of gender with other categories and the different effects on the futures of both will be addressed. While the future of gender mainstreaming as an independent concept is questionable, gender mainstreaming as a principle is becoming more relevant.
