Abstract: Work has changed fundamentally in recent years, not least because of the increasing use of digital and mobile information and communication technologies. Central developments have been the dissemination of computers, internet and social media, mobile phones, smartphones, laptops and tablets. This paper explores different problem areas, challenges and strain that have emerged from the use of digital and mobile technologies (among other points de-limination, precarisation and crowdwork, ergonomic deficits, work concentration, diffuse and contradictory expectations, demands for self-presentation) and discusses them with regard to their challenges for occupational health and safety.
