Europäische Industriepolitik zwischen Anspruch und Wirklichkeit

Bernd Lange

WSI-Mitteilungen, 2015, vol. 68, issue 7, 550-553

Abstract: The article provides an overview of recent initiatives in industrial policy within the European Union, while noting that specific steps towards implementation have been lacking to date. Discussion focuses specifically on the Juncker Plan for a 60 billion comprehensive European investment programme, the research framework Horizont 2020, the Digital Agenda, the Energy Union and trade agreements (TIPP). The fact that codetermination and qualification do not play a role in these programmes is particularly criticized and also that further deregulation is on the agenda under the heading of ‘reduction of bureaucracy’.
